SOUTH DAKOTA & MONTANA
These are the final two democratic primary states. They were supposed to be Obama blow outs by some 20 points over Hillary Clinton. As we approach tomorrow’s primary, it appears the gap has narrowed.
If Hillary Clinton wins tomorrow, it is a major victory. If Hillary Clinton wins by a landslide, it suggests that since March, the momentum is on Hillary’s side.
More important, it points out the growing weakness of the Obama campaign. Obama is losing support in state after state for the last four months. There is no excitement about his candidacy. There is no evidence of his ability to win the General Election.
Obama has done nothing but won 11 states in February, primarily caucus states, which have allowed him to be ahead in pledged delegates. It was a good strategy. In the larger states, his campaign targeted delegate rich counties in order to gain delegates.
He has not won the heart and soul of this party. He has run a strategically smart delegate race. This will not work in the general election because there is no proportional winning. On a county by county basis, Hillary killed Obama.
When I began to watch this race, I had no preference for a candidate. Hillary Clinton earned my vote. Hillary Clinton, against all odds; a media who is brutal; a Democratic party who opposed her; an Obama money machine which paid super delegate to help; and in excess of $100,000,000 in advertising and 100,000 commercials. Against all this, Hillary showed us the kind of fighter she is and would be for all of us.
I hope tomorrow is a blow out for Hillary, she deserves it and she has earned it. I cannot fully express how proud I am at her and the way she campaigned.
I have no illusions about the self interest of the Democrats and why they are supporting Obama. I believe they will lose with Obama. I believe there are more than 17 million reasons why Obama will lose... evie litwok
