The Tippy Story

I believe relationships have been a prevalent theme in my life. I have not fared well in the one on one human kind of relationships. Some might say my passion for dogs is my exit strategy for not being able to have a successful human relationship. To those skeptics I emphatically say NO!

I have so much passion for these wonderful four pawed beings I sleep with every night. My little dogs are like little people. These little Maltese all white dogs live to make humans like me happy. They are always excited to go anywhere, happy to see me, make me smile, and constantly want to kiss me.

My little Maltese dogs follow me everywhere; when I move, they move. When I sit, they sit. They are a constant source of pleasure. It is impossible to be sad or depressed for too long when a little dog is staring at you with loving eyes.

I rarely spoke of my passion for this little dogs with humans as I worried what they might think. I suspected I would get some weird looks or GASPS OF HORROR if I were to show the one-hundred pictures I carried in my wallet or started to talk about their very different personalities; and my mother, she was horrified I was living with 5 dogs.

One Mothers Day, I gave my mother a pillow which read; Let me get this straight, My grandchild is a dog? She gave it back to me.

Tippy, my first Maltese, was the matriarch of the family. She had five puppies and two grandchildren. I lived with three generations of Tippy's Maltese family; make no mistake, they did not live with me. It was through this living arrangement I discovered they not only knew more about me than I did, but they had definite opinions about how I was running my life. Through their eyes and body language, they expressed their feelings and thoughts. If I had a second date with someone they had met, I could see the all too familiar expression, " why are you going out with her again, you had such a miserable time on your last date?"

It was their expressions of approval, disapproval, the " are you going to be a crazy human today" look, that prompted me to memorialize my life with Tippy and her pups. The Tippy Story is about life with me, through Tippy's eyes. It is truly a love story.

It's Reigning Men

Chris Matthews, Tim Russet, Joe Scarborough, David Shuster.... take your pick. Women may have won the right to vote, but failed to get the slightest bit of dignity or respect from these "reigning men" of TV. The coverage of the candidates was limited to a level of sexism never before seen by women. For 24/7 the candidacy of Hillary Clinton was reduced to talking points about Hillary's clothes, hair, thighs, her laugh, her clap and her pain suits; every women in America was insulted.
Clips from shows throughout the year show a pattern of abusive, sexist rants. In the end, their heartless and abrasive bashing offered a glimpse into the state of news and news anchors today. The news has shown and highlighted groups of overbearing white men who need to get a life and get out of the news business. This film highlights the problem.
